At the same meeting we were also able to catch a few moments with a 1/12th scale regular, Phil Davies, runner up in this years championship. (2000/1)

Paul Ash: Phil, how many years have you raced?
Phil Davies: Good heavens. I got my first car in 1980, I think my first proper organised race was in 1982.
PA: When did you start 1/12th scale?
PD: That was around 1982
PA: What was your first 1/12th scale car?
PD: It was a Jomac Lightning
PA: What equipment do you run and who are your current sponsors?
PD: I’m sponsored by Associated, Reedy, LRP, Jaco and Protoform.
PA: Who do you most admire among the other drivers?
PD: In 1/12th scale, David Spashett, consistent, smooth and fast. He seems to deliver results with ease, but Andrew Moore is very, very close.
PA: Do you have any tips for beginners?
PD: If you can walk the racing line and know where the racing line is, put your car on it when you are driving. Concentrate on doing that first before going fast.
PA: Thanks for your time Phil
